Senior Special Assistant to the Abia State Governor on Due Process, Dr. Oluebube A. Chukwu, has called on newlywed couple, Chinweotuto Chukwumerije and Chinedu Okafor, to build their marriage on a foundation of unwavering faith in God, describing marriage as “a special gift from God and honourable in His sight,” he stated.

Dr. Chukwu made the call during the couple’s traditional wedding ceremony held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the residence of Rev. Dr. E.O. Chukwumerije in Uhude Ngodo, Isuochi, Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.

Addressing the gathering of family members, friends, and dignitaries, Dr. Chukwu urged the couple to always seek God in all things, especially in difficult moments. “Always hope and trust in God, you will succeed in your union,” he said. “In the journey you’ve started today, have faith in God and run to Him first for solutions in any issue that may arise” Dr. Chukwu advised.
He also charged guests at the occasion to constantly remember the couple in their prayers and support their growth. Dr. Chukwu further used the opportunity to commend the developmental strides of the Governor Alex Otti-led administration, urging all Abians to continue supporting the government’s vision for a New state.
In their remarks, the visibly excited couple, Mr. and Mrs. Chinedu Okafor, expressed gratitude to all who honoured their invitation. They thanked their families, friends, and well-wishers for their love and support, and prayed for God’s protection over everyone who journeyed to celebrate with them.
The colourful event featured cultural displays, music, entertainment, and a lively atmosphere that reflected the joy and unity of both families.
