The Head, Due Process and Public Procurement Bureau in Abia State, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu, has commended the Councillor representing Amuda Ward in Umunneochi Local Government Area, Hon. David Mba, for what he described as impactful and community-driven leadership, as the Councillor marked his first year in office.

Speaking at Afor Ojide Market Square, Amuda Isuochi, on November 8, 2025, during the anniversary event, Dr. Chukwu hailed Hon. Mba for demonstrating commitment to grassroots development and delivering meaningful projects within his ward. He described the Councillor as a dedicated and worthy community leader.

Dr. Chukwu, who chaired the ceremony, also applauded Governor Alex Otti for fostering an environment that encourages transparent leadership and citizen-focused governance, noting that the celebration aligned with the administration’s vision of inclusiveness and accountability. According to him, the event represented a “town-hall style engagement” that reflects the New Abia agenda under Governor Otti.

Through the Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation (OACF), Dr. Chukwu expanded the empowerment support initiated at the event by providing an additional ₦20,000 each to 16 local women to boost their small businesses. He urged residents to participate actively in the ongoing voter registration exercise and sustain their support for the present administration.

In his address, Hon. Mba; a former youth president of Amuda, thanked God and the people of his ward for the mandate and support. He outlined some of his achievements in the past year and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing development initiatives and improving the welfare of constituents.
The anniversary featured the distribution of educational and economic support packages. Beneficiaries included 22 primary school pupils who received ₦15,000 each, 20 secondary school students who received ₦20,000 each, and 16 women entrepreneurs who received ₦20,000 each to support their small-scale ventures.
The event also recorded goodwill contributions from the Mayor of Umunneochi LGA, the State House of Assembly member representing Umunneochi, the Abia Arise initiative, and other stakeholders.
Dignitaries in attendance included: Hon. Mathias Nwachi, member representing Umunneochi State Constituency; Hon. Sunny Afuruobi, Mayor of Umunneochi LGA; and HRH Eze Wilson Egbo, Traditional Ruler of Umucha Autonomous Community, alongside Labour Party leaders, community stakeholders, and residents. Cultural performances and entertainment added colour to the celebration.
