The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Umunneochi LGA Chapter, has conferred an award of Excellence and recognition as Patron on Dr. Oluebube Chukwu, Senior Special Assistant to the Abia State Governor on Due Process, in recognition of his contributions to local development and grassroots governance.

The ceremony, held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in Umuahia, brought together the union’s leadership, including Chairman Engr. Comrade Kingsley Ajala, members of the executive council, and former chapter chairman Comrade Uba Chibueze.

Presenting the award, Comrade Ajala hailed Dr. Chukwu for his dedication to advancing socio-economic growth in Umunneochi and highlighted Governor Alex Otti’s commitment to workers’ welfare, especially the prompt payment of salaries and initiatives strengthening local government administration.

“This award celebrates your impactful contributions to Umunneochi and your steadfast support for development initiatives that improve the lives of our people,” Ajala said.

Responding, Dr. Chukwu thanked NULGE for the recognition, calling it a motivation to continue serving Abia State and supporting programmes that uplift communities.

He commended Governor Otti for creating an enabling environment for transparent, efficient, and people-centered governance.

“I am deeply honoured by this recognition,” Dr. Chukwu said. “It is a call to greater service and a reminder of our shared responsibility in advancing Abia’s progress. I am grateful to Governor Otti for the platform to contribute to the state’s transformation.”

The Due Process Bureau Chief also encouraged union members to continue supporting the Governor’s developmental agenda, noting that construction and reforms are ongoing across all parts of the state.

“No area of Abia is being left behind, development is happening in every nook and cranny. I urge everyone to keep standing with the Governor as we work together to build a stronger, more prosperous state. Let us sustain this progress,” he said.
