Oluebube Chukwu Honoured As “Son Of Grace” At Women’s Conference In Umuahia

Umuahia — The Women’s Ministry of the Anglican Communion Church of the Good Shepherd, Ehimiri, Umuahia, held its 2025 Annual Women’s Guide Conference with grandeur and spiritual reflection, celebrating individuals who have significantly supported the ministry’s growth and mission.



In her opening remarks, Mrs. Success Okeke, an enrolling member of the Women’s Guide, warmly welcomed all attendees and expressed deep appreciation to those who made out time to support the women’s ministry. She commended the dedication of members, guests, and stakeholders who continue to uplift the work of God through the women’s fellowship.



She also extended her congratulations to the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, and his wife on their two years in office. Highlighting the state’s visible transformation, particularly in road infrastructure and healthcare delivery, Mrs. Okeke prayed for continued strength, grace, and wisdom upon the Governor to accomplish even greater strides in governance.


A major highlight of the conference was the presentation of awards to individuals recognized for their outstanding support and contribution to the ministry. Among the honorees was Dr. Oluebube Chukwu, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Due Process, who was honored with the “Son of Grace” award.

Represented by Lady Ijeoma Iroanulo, a board member of the Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation, Dr. Chukwu expressed profound gratitude to the Women’s Ministry for the recognition. He described the award as both humbling and encouraging, noting that supporting the work of God has always been his way of giving back for God’s faithfulness in his life.

“I consider it a privilege to support God’s work through the women’s ministry,” he stated, assuring the ministry of his continuous support. “My doors are always open to you. In my capacity, I will continue to contribute to the advancement of God's kingdom and the development of our beloved Abia State.”

He further reiterated the commitment of the current administration under Governor Alex Otti to building a state that everyone would be proud to call home. He urged the church not to relent in its prayers for the government and its leadership.

Also in attendance at the conference were notable church leaders including Ven. Dr. & Mrs. Chukwuemeka Agbanyim, The Rev’d Canon Emeka Samuel Okeke, Ven. Herbert and Mrs. Joy Eche, and Rev’d Canon Dr. Azubuike and Mrs. Joyce Ogu.

The 2025 Women’s Guide Conference stood as a testament to the power of faith, collaboration, and leadership in driving spiritual and social impact within the community.
